COMPLETED AS A SOLO PROJECT
The goal of this project was to plan and design a conference event for Shopped. This conference is about the use of photo manipulation in mainstream media and in commercial advertising. It will discuss the ethics of Photoshop and retouching for the purposes of making a product more marketable, as well as the harmful effects of retouching regarding perpetuating beauty standards. Finally, it will ask the question of whether photoshop can be used as a tool for artistic creativity, or if it is just a means to conduct deceptive advertising and manipulate the consumer. The dynamic gradients, and warped type push the concept of manipulation and the power of digital editing tools, conveying the complexity of the discussion around photo manipulation and its impact on society.​​​​​​​
